On Monday 15 June (the week before the first ever Live Art Bloc at the END AUSTERITY NOW demonstration on 20 June) we thought it would be nice to get people together ahead of the demo to talk, think and be inspired.
So we have organised a screening of the acclaimed feature documentary Just Do It followed by a group discussion with the film editor and activist collective of one James Leadbitter aka the Vacuum Cleaner.

More about the film:
Just Do It – a tale of modern-day outlaws
For one eventful year, Emily James was allowed unprecedented access to film the secretive world of environmental direct action.
During that year Emily went over fence, through mud, in daylight and twilight, to capture over 300 hours of footage. That footage was lovingly crafted, moulded, pushed and pulled by Emily and editor James Leadbitter for over a year before the film emerged.
It is a story of people standing up for what they believe in and making themselves heard. But it was a story that needed to be told without the creative constraints of traditional production models or the editorial control of big investors. And so it was that Just Do It – the totally independent project – was born.

More about Live Art Bloc:
Dear Artists, Allies and Friends,
Lets join together in protest at the impending cuts that will be coming in with the new government. Now is the time to get organising and to mobilise. We need to get off the Facebook echo chamber and on to the streets.
The People’s Assembly are organising a major national demonstration to tell the new government: END AUSTERITY NOW
Lets all meet up beforehand and go to the demo together.
Lots of us are going for so many important reasons so some of us at Steakhouse thought we could go together – as its always more fun if you are with your friends!
This could also be a chance to make connections with each other and maybe see what else we can do together.
lets not forget – united we are stronger!
Its on Saturday 20 June and starts at 12pm so we could meet close by at 11.30am?
****save the date in your diary now*******
